Is the Nissan GTR the worlds most desirable High Performance AWD Coupe?

The Six Cylinder VR-series twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V6 is the most powerful factory V-Six to be offered to the general public.

Is this now the worlds most desirable High Performance AWD Coupe?

The 2009 Nissan GT-R tested does 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, the quarter-mile in 11.6 seconds at a touch over 190 kmh.(119 Mph)
This makes it faster than a 997 Porsche Turbo Corvette Z06 or Dodge Viper and not to mention the lap of the 'Ring quicker than the 997.

New Nissan V6 Named One of Ward's 10 Best Engines

DETROIT (Dec. 12, 2007) -Nissan's VQ37VHR engine has been named to the 10 Best Engines list by Ward's Automotive Group, marking the 14th straight year a VQ series engine has earned that distinction. It is the only engine that has been included every year since the award began in 1995.

Ward's evaluated the VQ37VHR, mated to a six-speed manual transmission, in the 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe. The G37 marks the first application of the new 3.7-liter V6 engine with VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift). Rated at 330 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque.

Our man in Tokyo on the spot at 2007 TOKYO MOTOR SHOW FIRST V6TT GTR DISPLAY, Adam Zillin, captured these first official images below of the first GTR not to wear the Skyline Model designation since the R34 Skyline GTR.

The GT-R seems typical responsive big engine characteristics on the road.

The Twin Turbo's are now the new generation of ball bearing style that spool up considerably faster because of the reduced friction. This allows the reduction of turbo lag as well helping acceleration low in the RPM range.

On-boost torque is delivered very progressively

Nissan has constantly raised the high performance bar for others to try and follow. The original 'Z' cars were the forerunners to the race to win buyers over with high performance and handling in an affordable package that had style on its side. The popular Twin Turbo 300ZX V6 while powerful and agile for its bulk, never really compared to the All Wheel Drive 'Godzilla'

The Skyline range has a long history of race bred performance

FIA GT1 World Championship, Round 8 Navarra, Spain.

Warren Hughes and Jamie Campbell-Walter took a podium finish in today's FIA GT1 World Championship race at Navarra in Spain, cementing the Sumo Power GT team's third place in the Team's Championship standings. Their team-mates, Peter Dumbreck and Michael Krumm had a tough day, retiring from both races, and the Swiss Racing Team drivers had an especially difficult time this afternoon, both cars also retiring from the race.

RACE REPORT: FIA GT1 World Championship, Round 8 Navarra, Spain

In this morning's qualifying race it was the No.22 Nissan GT-R that came out on top, taking a fine fifth place at the finish. Both Warren Hughes and Jamie Campbell-Walter drove incredibly well and set up a great grid position for the main race. Their team-mates Michael Krumm and Peter Dumbreck ran out of luck on the last lap after a brilliant race that saw the No.23 car progress from 17th on the grid, all the way up to eighth. A fuel starvation issue stopped the car on the last lap, leaving the drivers with a big task ahead of them in the second race.
